Model Railway Tracks
Main Line

The track consists of a figure of 8 raised track which can accommodate 2.5", 3.5" and 5" gauge locomotives.
The track has access for unloading engines from the rear of a car, van or trailer directly onto the steaming bays so heavy engines can be accommodated. Roll on Roll off.

The track is just under a quarter of a mile long with some challenges along the way for the driver.

Firstly you come out of the station up an incline on a right hand bend of about 50 feet radius. Most steam engines get to about 4 miles an hour at the top of the incline.

The track then takes you over the traverser, twisting to the left then right. This then takes you into a the tightest section of track at about 38 feet radius.

The next section is slightly down hill onto a right hand radius up the steepest part of the track. Most steam locomotives, if they stop on this stage, need a help to get going again. Keep the momentum going!!

The back straight is level and leads into a 42 foot radius right bend which then starts to go down hill. Another small right hand bend then you are into the passenger off station. Then off to the main station for a refuel.

To make thing more interesting the the engines generally go round twice without stopping.
